Dear Friends,

Those that have been along for the ride with us for a little while now will know we’ve been part of StretFest from the beginning, usually turning up somewhere questionable and attempting to make a party out of it. Or at least some shit jokes.

From a gritty (Cafe del) Car park, to the splendour of the Stretford Public Hall’s beautiful ballroom, to an ammonia-infused underpass... to a pawnbrokers inside the soon-to-be-demolished :'( Stretford Arndale...

Every year the town and this festival seems to somehow get better… and also weirder. But that's Stretford for ya, baby.

Following our recent forced redundancy from the pawnbroking industry we know and love, we’re setting up shop somewhere absolutely respectable. Properly valuable £££.

For StretFest 2026, Nite School is taking over another one of Stretford’s true institutions…

METRO’S SPORTS & SOCIAL CLUB

Metro’s has that special feeling many social clubs do - rooms steeped in history, a loyal membership, a stage that we are sure has seen far more than its fair share over the years…. stories sitting in the walls.

The only sensible thing to do as passionate Stretfordians is to lean embrace that and treat the whole day like a proper gala, bringing together friends, collaborators and local heroes to fill the place with music and life.

Expect a full day and night of music, dancing, street food, workshops, vinyl, market stalls and a few surprises, as Metro’s throws open the doors and invites Stretford in.

Limited capacity.

SKIPPY (NITE SCHOOL RESIDENT) -
DJ WORKSHOP & OPEN DECKS SESSION

LEARN TO MIX WITH NITE SCHOOL

10:00 – 12:00 - SATURDAY 28TH MARCH

We’re hosting a special Nite School DJ workshop, led by resident & rising star, Skippy (Phoebe).

This is a beginner-friendly, all levels of experience welcome, hands-on session aimed at anyone curious about DJing & looking to build confidence on the decks, or those with a bit more experience under their belts. Whether you’ve never touched equipment before or just want some guidance in a relaxed setting, this is a space to learn, ask questions, and just have a go. Zero pressure.

The workshop will be hosted by Nite School DJ / Producer, Skippy (FKA Phoebe) - who has shared stages with the likes of Bicep and appeared on Rinse FM, she’ll tailor the session to the experience of the attendees, covering anything from the basics of DJing, to navigating CDJs and understanding track structure, to mixing techniques and how to build a flow and structure a mix. There’ll be time to get stuck in yourself, with Skippy and the Nite School team’s support throughout.

The session will be run on full club-standard equipment, including CDJ-3000Xs and an A9 mixer, the same setup you’d find in most top-end professional DJ booths. It’s a chance to get comfortable on the kind of gear you’d actually play on in a club (and ask any questions you have along the way!)

Following the workshop, we’ll open things up for a one-hour open decks session. A chance to put things into practice, play a few tracks, or just get a feel for the setup in a low-pressure environment.

Pay what you can.

Suggested contributions £3–£10.
No one turned away for lack of funds.

Equipment provided with the kind support of AlphaTheta.

THIS WORKSHOP WILL HAVE A VERY LIMITED CAPACITY.

Advance ticket reservation is strongly recommended.
